PREDICTABLE EXCELLENCE IN ESTHETIC FIXED PROSTHODONTICS

This presentation will cover:
• All-ceramic systems from Alumina to Zirconia will be presented and compared to traditional and alternative metal-ceramic restorations for properties of strength, esthetics and ease of handling
• Clinical trials on all-ceramic crown and bridge systems are offered to support use of the systems in private practice.
• CAD/CAM fabrication technologies for zirconia substructures and conventional ceramics are illustrated
• Selection criteria and indications for the various all-ceramic systems
• Current principles for restoration of endodontically treated teeth
• Rationale for and tooth preparation designs for various ceramic restorations and minimally invasive tooth preparations are demonstrated

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

As founder and director of Pacific Dental Institute in Portland, OR, Dr. Sorensen is engaged in a practice limited to prosthodontics, currently conducting six clinical trials on all-ceramic fixed prosthodontic systems as well as in vitro materials testing, and providing hands-on continuing education programs in fixed prosthodontics and implant dentistry. Previously he was The Oregon Dental Association Centennial Professor of Restorative
Dentistry and Director of the Dental Clinical Research Center at Oregon Health Sciences University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and a member of many prosthodontic and dental research academies. Dr. Sorensen has published over 70 research articles and chapters as well as over 100 research
abstracts. He has given over 100 invited lectures in 27 countries.
